Controller Information
The controller is the device used to control the power output of a drive motor, much like the throttle plates in a carburetor of a gas engine. The controller is usually interfaced to a Throttle.
Small Controllers
Controllers from 12 to 36VDC and less than 50 amps.   These are mostly replacement Controllers for small Electric Scooters and Bikes and use specific matched Throttles.  We have some "packaged" together with Motors and Throttles in the "System Packages" Section.
Controllers Permanent Magnet Regen & Reversing
Permanent Magnet Motors Regen & Reversing Controllers
Controllers Series & PM
Controllers for Series and Permanent Magnet Motors
Controllers Sep/Ex (Golf-Cart)
Controllers for Sep/Ex Motors mostly used on Golf Cart type Vehicles
Controllers Brushless
Controllers for PM Brushless Motors
Controller Package Kits

Controller Information
More Information on Controllers. (also found in the "Knowlege Base" section under Keyword "Controller")

A Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller is typical in most DC application. this type controller electronically switches on and off at very high speeds to control power output.

Most controllers will monitor overcurrent and overheating conditions, shutting down temporarily if needed. There are also safety interlocks to make sure everything is hooked up right, and some controllers will even monitor other aspects of the motor.

It is a solid-state device that uses a pulse width modulator (PWM) that sends short bursts of current to the motor. It pulses at a rate of 15 kHz. The speed controller is crucial to the efficiency and smooth operation of a DC Motor.
